Two Spanish Fighter Planes Fly Over Northern Catalonia

On Monday afternoon two Spanish air force fighter planes flew low over some towns in northern Catalonia. The planes wer F-18 fighter planes, and caused a deafening racket which the neighbors around the towns viewed as threats by Spain. According to onlookers, the plane that was flying closer to the ground repeatedly turned its wings in a menacing military display, which terrorized the population.

Some media sources are informing that after these events some people fled to France and Andorra, thinking the worse—that the Spanish army might have begun actions against the Catalan population. Apparently, the number of people crossing the French and Andorran border was greater than usual.

According to witnesses, people started to wonder if it was really a threat, or just another way for Spain to squander money by flying these extremely expensive to operate planes. A big ruckus went on for a while about these events in all social networks.
