Spain refuses to Condemn the Violence

Only in six days 586 people injured, 183 arrested, 18 hospitalized, 4 blind in one eye, many more with testicles losts, 21 jailed, 2,5 milions in destructions in Barcelona. But anyway the Interior Minister Marlaska, a well known judge (yes this is the separation of powers in Spain!) has said today that it is "a gorgeous task". "It has been magnificient". In fact he ignored the fate of those injured some of them in very serious prognosis after police beatins and car running.

Marlaska yesterday said "We have the monopoly of violence". Spain refuses a Democratic referendum and it is trying to impose its will over the Catalan population by violence an terrorism. Police gangs with the help of Fascist squads beat Catalan people in many populations. Marlaska  has been condemned by the ECHR and he now congratulates the police gangs for an excellent job: 4 people have lost an eye, 586 injured, 18 hospitalized some of them with very serious prognosis.

Geolocation tries (when there isn’t repetition of incidents) to locate the facts in the space with the maximum precision possible, according with the information of the sources. Some Spanish attacks have been arson attacks. You can see a selection in our label 'Spanish Repression'.

Solidarity Alert (Alerta Solidària) denounces different irregularites of the Spanish inquisition

The Solidarity Alert (Alerta Solidària) group, formed by lawyers and activists, has denounced the different irregularites of the Spanish inquisition in the case of seven Catalans detained by the Spanish military police and later jailed:

First of all, the Spanish "judge" has only conveyed to the defense lawyers the dispositive part of the court order to imprison them, but not the entire order.:

"a. We defense lawyers cannot know all the judge's argument for having ordered precautionary imprisonment b. We defense lawyers cannot file any appeal regarding this decision.

Secondly, after the imprisoning order, the defense lawyers have been prevented from assisting the detainees: When they asked to talk to their defendants, they have been told that the transfer to Soto del Real jail was already arranged and it could not be interrupted. The Alerta Solidària lawyers have asked to meet with them in prison and it has been denied because of the jail's schedule.

All in all, the detainees have had to enter prison without having been able to speak with their defense lawyers. All of which is one more proof of the extremely serious treatment they are being given in all this process. The right to defense, violated again. Most worrying.

Nine Catalans detained to prevent any peaceful protest before the verdict in the trial for the Democratic Referendum

Nine pro-independence activists were detained today at dawn by Spain’s military police. The operation has been called for by Spain’s Inquisition Court in Madrid. Sources of the court said that the activists are members of the CDR pro-independence group. The detained individuals have been moved to Madri. Spain has used 500 police armed officers to detain nine unarmed Catalans. This is what they call proportionality.

Last year two other activists were accused – one of them, Adrià Carrasco, went into exile, and the other one, Tamara Carrasco, was held in her town before the charges were dropped for both.

The CDR organization reacted to the arrests on Twitter, saying: "No matter how many indiscriminate raids and arbitrary detentions there are, they won't stop a determined and combative people."

The CDR, or Committees for the Defence of the Republic, are a network of pro-independence assemblies set up in 2017 that defend the bid split from Spain by promoting peaceful demonstrations and protests. The arrests come as the verdict in the trial of independence leaders in the Supreme Court is due out soon.

"20-S" Documentary - English Version

Excellent documentary by Mediapro proving beyond doubt that jailed Catalan leaders Jordi Cuixart and Jordi Sanchez were key to ensuring a peaceful demonstration on 20th September in Barcelona, but who, in a gross distortion of justice, have since been detained on charges of 'rebellion'. "20-S" is a detailed reconstruction with the help of eye-witness accounts and people who took part in the events of what happened outside the Catalan Finance Ministry buildings in Barcelona and at the CUP party offices in Barcelona on the 20th September 2017. Using footage from up to 35 different sources, the documentary takes a detailed look into the events which took place on that historic day in Barcelona: the role of Jordi Sànchez and Jordi Cuixart, then presidents of the Catalan National Assembly and Òmnium Cultural, during the spontaneous demonstration that took place outside the Catalan Finance Ministry buildings, the role of the Spanish National Police at the CUP party offices and the attempts to enter the building without a court order and the crowd's successful efforts to prevent it; and the role of the Catalan regional police-force trying to avoid a public order problem in the streets of the city on a day which saw massive demonstrations. "20-S" is, in short, a detailed reconstruction of the day that contradicts the official version of what happened.

Pro Spanish Neonazis deface a 900 years old Catalan monastery

The Monastery of Franqueses in Balaguer is the last victim of Spanish hate. Tonight Spanish annexationists of Neonazi ideology depicted the central building of the Monastery which was founded in 1186. Spanish Neonazis painted swastikas as well as praises to Spain and Franco, a dictator who banned Catalan language an political parties from 1939 until his death, at bed.  This is not the first time that pro Spanish annexationists attack buildings. In 2012, five years before the Democratic Referendum, Spanish terrorists did a wave of attacks and in 2011 they defaced a Catalan flag monument with swastikas. As usual none has been detained. Is the police unable or accomplice?

Neighbors of Verges expel a handful of Spanish terrorists who tried to spread fear removing Catalan flags

The action of a group that raked Catalan flags in Verges has ended with police intervention. Neighbors of the population have left the streets to face their attitude and the Catalan police had to expell the terrorists. The events took place this Sunday at noon, when a group of six people approached the population with the intention of removing yellow and stellar bows that were hanging on street lamps. Then, residents of Verges have left the streets to prevent it and recriminate their attitude. Verges is ruled by the pro independence party CUP and pro Spanish parties have virtually no support.

Verges has been victim of several Spanish terrorist attacks. Last summer Spaniards raked Catalan flags by night but they were expelled too by the neighbors. In October Spanish terrorists attacked at dawn: tires of cars were indiscriminately bursting by the Spaniards.

Jordi Sànchez: I am before this court for having been the president of the Catalan National Assembly. I deem myself a political prisoner.

The former chairman of the grassroots group Catalan National Assembly, Jordi Sànchez, was asked more than six hour by Spanish Inquisitors. ànchez also stated that "the facts" used by the State Attorney General and the Government Attorney's Office to accuse him are "false":
"I deem myself a political prisoner. This is a political trial and I believe this is my obligation as a citizen who intends to answer before the truth, and, faced with a court that proclaims its will to be impartial, I would like to give it a chance to prove it."
"And since I am convinced that all the facts levelled at me by the State Attorney General's Office and the Government Attorney's Office are false, I am not afraid of answering and offering the truth to my fellow citizens."

The roadmap of the ANC
When questioned by the prosecutor by the so-called "roadmap" of the ANC, Sànchez defended that such tools are very common in a number of fields, and that "these elements are mere statements of intent".
Sànchez specified, however, that when the ANC roadmap was approved, he was not the president of said association:
"Everyone uses roadmaps. A few weeks ago we could hear about Sánchez's government and the Spanish Socialist Party discussing their roadmap; this is quite a normal concept, and all roadmaps are statements of intent endowed with the value of political intentions. The roadmap towards independence approved by the ANC was drafted when I was not the president of the association, but I am familiar with the document."

Citizen mobilisations, "a basic element of a state governed by the rule of law"
When asked about his role leading the ANC, Sànchez defended its function in mobilising people, and he pointed out its legitimacy and the legality, even when working towards the independence of Catalonia:
"Citizen mobilisations are a basic element in a state governed by the rule of law, and the purpose of said mobilisations is to generate cohesion and social majorities."
"There is an unambiguous will and desire, namely independence which, as the Court is well aware, in this country, in a Constitutional Court ruling on not having a militant Constitution and democracy, it is perfectly legitimate to formulate independence as my own wish and that of the ANC."
In this regard, Sànchez complained that the accusation questioned "perfectly peaceful demonstrations":
"The indictment contains a number of references and sections that seem to clearly question demonstrations that were absolutely peaceful in the strict exercise of the right to demonstration and protest. This, among other reasons, has led me to consider myself a political prisoner, a conscientious prisoner, because I am convinced that I am before this court for having been the president of the ANC."

Surreal: Catalan Political Prisoner Jordi Sànchez faces 17 years for receiving an e-mail

During Spain's trial of Catalan independence leaders, the Spanish Inquisitor accused activist Jordi Sànchez (@jordialapreso) of having received an email. The Prosecution is seeking 17 years of prison for the crime of violent rebellion. And this is evidence of the "crime"? Surreal.

A mysterious "Sabi Strübel" came to the fore of the news on Thursday afternoon during Jordi Sànchez's statements in the Supreme Court.

The prosecutor asked Sànchez if he knew anyone called Xabi Strubell. Sànchez answered that he did not. Javier Zaragoza then asked for an email message to be displayed on the screen. The email message, written to Sànchez, suggested parking private vehicles in front of the polling stations.

The pro-independence leader denied ever having seen the message. In a tug of war against the prosecutor, Sànchez made the following reference to justice Manuel Marchena:

"I do not want to be rude. There have been WhatsApp messages that have compromised the dignity and good name of the presiding magistrate of this Court."

Sànchez was referring to the message sent by the spokesperson of the PP in the Senate, Ignacio Cosidó, to all the senators in the group, stating that he would control the courtroom judging the pro-independence leaders "from behind" due to having managed to place Marchena as the president of the General Council of the Judiciary and of the Supreme Court. Marchena resigned from this position on the following day.

The former president of the ANC also told the prosecutor that "it would have been interested to call Xabi Strubell as a witness".

Spanish Supreme Court Judge Marchena bans the witnesses to speak Catalan: "You have no right"

"Can I Speak Catalan ?", "No", said the the Spanish Judge of the Supreme Court today. The Esquerra MP, Joan Tardà, has begun the round of witnesses in the judgment of the shame to the Supreme Inquisition court. A very chaotic intervention marked by the interruption of Judge Marchena and the questions of the lawyer of Fascist Vox.

Tardà has begun his statement combining Catalan and Spanish, until he has answered Vox questions that he has only done in Catalan, which has come into conflict with Judge Marchena. Finally, the Spanish judge has acknowledged that the witnesses "have no right" to make the declarations in Catalan, since it is not the official language of the judicial chamber of Madrid. New attack against the language, which has become visible.
