The Spanish Kingdom spends 300,000€ to maintain king's horses

The Spanish government has been accusing the Catalan government of having unnecessary expenses. In reality, however, the deficit generated by the Spanish government alone makes up a 75% of the whole debt, whereas the one generated by the autonomous regions and city councils is just of 25%.

The incredible amount of debt the Spanish government has is, in fact, a kind of bottomless black pit financed by all Europeans. And things are only about to get worse. The Spanish Kingdom is the second state in the world (behind China) in kilometers dedicated to high speed trains, it has three times more airports than Germany, and an outrageously expensive defense budget. These  are just a few examples. From Help Catalonia we have reported that the European Funds have been set aside to finance funky projects.

The seventeen horses owned by the Spanish king are a very palpable example of this squandering. In a moment where hospitals are closing, aids are revoked, and patients have to pay for their own prescription drugs, the Spanish Kingdom allocates 8,900,000€ to running the Royal House. This is in fact not the total amount, because the main portion of the expenses belongs to budget entries categorized as ‘other’. The Spanish Kingdom, well into the 21st century, spends 6,500,000€ to pay for 140 servants to the king. This is not the only ludicrous expense in this failing state. Let's remember the recent incidents around the safari held by the king to kill elephants.

Going back to the 305,000€ allocated to maintaining the seventeen horses owned by the king—that's a lot of hay! Moreover, this figure does not include the two carriages coaches that are kept just for ambassador ceremonies. In order to house the horses, they built stables in the basement of the Royal Palace, also paid for with taxpayer's money. In fact, the Crown doesn't even pay for those expenses (not included in their 9 million euro budget), but taxpayers do.

Remember, as long as the Spanish Kingdom keeps asking Europe for help in financing their debt, all Europeans will keep paying up as well.
