Nationalist Spaniards keep embezzling thousands of € to support bull fights

While Spain is about to ask for a full bailout from Europe, the right-wing Spanish Government seems incapable to stop unnecessary spending and keeps squandering money. This time we will mention three fund movements made by the local authorities to assist and guarantee bullfighting celebrations. The Spanish Nationalist parties continue to misappropriate funds to promote the bullfighting industry even though in many places (e.g. Peru, Panama, Nicaragua, Catalonia) this cruel spectacle has already been banned.

The  first case would be the Madrid Government - led by the PP party -, which just this last October financed bullfighting promotion to the tune of € 256,860. The previous week, the council of Cordoba, also led by PP, gave € 1,000,000 to fund a bullfighting museum. Is this really an imperative and crucial cost in time of crisis? Finally, this time last year the 'Diputación of Málaga' granted € 300,000 to reform the bull fighting ring under the support and guidance, once again, of the PP political party.

These "local" grants are being made in addition to the Autonomous Communities subsidies, all of which are run by Spanish nationalist parties. For instance, in the case of Andalusia, in the hands of PSOE, the subsidy value reached up to € 20,000,000, adding up to the huge amount of funds that the State already invests in the bullfighting industry.
