Spain to Dismantle Catalan Foreign Delegations

The Spanish government announced they are working on a proposal for a "total reform" of the public administrations in order to simplify infrastructures and avoid duplication of efforts. Amongst other mesures, it is preparing an audit about the management of competencies in the autonomous communities. They are considering dismantling the Catalan foreign delegations.

This was the answer by Spanish vice-president, Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría, to a question made by a journalist, asking if Catalonia should have foreign delegations. Santamaría said; "About the specific case of autonomous communities having embassies (referring to Catalonia), the question will be studied. We would be more efficient if we have embassies that could represent us all."
