The Catalan National Day is for me a symbol of national identity, the one stolen, battered, trampled and scorned for nearly 300 years! I am Catalan, I have always been and I will always be, it’s my deep feeling. That is my identity, despite the suffered plundering; they have not managed to take it away from me. That’s the reason why I am proud to be Catalan. The 11th September is also a request for the independence, for a future as a nation of my small big country, Catalonia. Furthermore, this year our National Day should be the perfect way to let the whole world know our identity as well as our wish for independence. As Lluis Companys said (the former Catalan Prime Minister) “we will suffer again, we will fight again and we will win again!”
