Over 700 people, some of them Help Catalonia Volunteers, gathered in London yesterday to raise awareness of the silent conflict between Catalonia and Spain. In order to extend the scale, scope and awareness of the Via Catalana, the Catalan Way, a human chain to take place across towns and cities in Catalonia on the 11th of
September, the Catalan communities worldwide are organizing the International Catalan Way,
basically a smaller scale copy of human chains in the main cities
around the world. These events will take place a few days before the
core event in Catalonia, and will be broadcast on TV channels and the Internet prior to the Catalan Way to encourage people to take part and to raise awareness of our cause throughout the world.
We gathered in London on Saturday the 31st of August in front of the House of Commons, in
Westminster. The event kicked off at 4pm in the Old Palace Yard. We built a human chain which was filmed from 5.14pm (or 17:14, to
coincide with year 1714, when Catalonia lost all its rights and its own
institutions) on the East Pathway, in Parliament Square.
No doubt the International Catalan Way is becoming a historic event, a
great opportunity to raise consciousness of the right of nations to
self-determination, and to support the democratic will of Catalonia for
freedom.

However, what is really required is a referendum to find out with exactitude exactly how large the already evident majority for independence of Catalonia is.

Both those who are for a new state and those against believe, or at least claim, the majority of the citizens are with them. Obviously, the only way to be sure is to hold a referendum. That is what we are asking for.
Both comments are by the same writer, who pompously proclaims that "De todos es conocido que no tengo amor a Cataluña. Reconozco cierta parte de irracionalidad en mis sentimientos...". The problem is his, not ours!
