This weekend over 40 cities all over the world held Catalan Ways. They were hosted in the five continents. The London Human Chain became the great surprise, where more than 800 people joined hands to claim for independence of Catalonia. In New York City, over 700 people also gathered together with a pro-independence spirit at the legendary Times Square. And all the videos and pictures coming from the Far East, particularly those from China are thrilling enough to give anyone goose bumps: The Great Chinese Wall boasted a chain of more than 100 people and was awash with colourful “Estelades” (Catalan Independence flags). Another setting for the Catalan Way was Lima, Peru, where over 150 people met to join hands and sing Catalonia’s national anthem. In Africa, at Nelson Mandela’s Square in Johannesburg, over 40 people also joined hands. And last, but not least, in the fifth continent, Sydney, Perth, Brisbane and Auckland (55 people) also held Catalan Ways.
More than 40 cities all over the world hosted The International Catalan Way. All the pictures will go down in history and will be remembered as the precursor of the Catalan Way due on 11th September.
Meanwhile the Catalan Way keeps growing and growing, with fewer and fewer sections left to fill up.
