    People are self-centered, nations are self-centered. A re-run of 1990. Back then, only brave, idealistic Iceland supported Lithuania's independence straight away in March 1990. Now here we go again: all the major countries are warning Catalunya to stop talking about independence and threatening to support Spain in maintaining the status quo.
