The General Representative to the EU of the Government of Catalonia delivered a speech on Wednesday last on the occasion of a Conference held in the European Parliament on linguistic discrimination in the EU, with an emphasis on the Catalan case. A report entitled “Linguistic discrimination in Europe, the Catalan Case”, which had been prepared by Plataforma per la Llengua –a Catalan organization for the promotion of the Catalan language- was presented and discussed during the Conference. The Conference was jointly organised by the Catalan MEPs Ramon Tremosa (ALDE), Salvador Sedó (EPP) and Raül Romeva (Greens/EFA) and brought together several representatives from the European Commission. The Catalan MEPs Maria Badia (S&D) and Raimon Obiols (S&D) also participated in it.
