Elisenda Paluzie elected as new chairwoman of the Catalan National Assembly

Elisenda Paluzie has been chosen as new chairwoman of grassroots organization Catalan National Assembly (ANC). Its former president, Jordi Sànchez, is currently incarcerated and is being harased by the Spanish courts. He was candidate to be Catalonia's President but the Spanih Inquisition banned him to be in the Parliament.

Paluzie (1969) is a professor of economics and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics at Barcelona University between 2009 and 2017. He was the first woman to be dean. He is a well known author collaborating with Journal of Economic Geography, Journal of Regional Science, Regional Studies, Papers in Regional Science, Spanish Economic Review or Cliometrica. She is the author of The political economy of inter-regional fiscal flows: measurement, determinants, and effects on country stability (Nagel, K-J. i Rixen, S. Eds) and Catalonia in Spain and Europe.
