First National Assembly of the Catalan Democratic Party (PDeCAT)

Political party Catalan Democratic Party (PDeCAT, independentist centrist) is holding its First National Assembly in Barcelona from 20 to 22 July with 1,900 people involved in the assmbly. The PDeCAT assembly has approved:

-  an amendment to create a commission that will lead the transition from this party to the Crida Nacional per la República of Carles Puigdemont and Jordi Sanchez. The amendment calls on the party's supporters to join the Crida and has achieved unanimity, with only one abstention.

-  to block the Spanish government, with its 8 MPs, if the repression continues.

-  to decide not to renounce the implementation of the Catalan Republic uniterally and to have as a main goal the immediate implementation of the Catalan Republic, but the leadership of the party, proposed a second vote on Sunday.


Alex Salmond, from the Scottish National Party, former First Minister of Scotland and former SNP leaderl participated today in the National Assembly. PDeCAT direction has been renewed with David Bonvehi as president and Miriam Nogueras as VP. A critic list which defended open lists obteined 28 % of the votes and the winners 65 %.
