Thousands demand freedom of 2 peaceful grassroots leaders jailed for a year

Grassroots activists Jordi Cuixart and Jordi Sànchez have now been imprisoned for a year, accused of sedition and rebellion. They have not been judged. Thousands demandes freedom for them and the rest of political prisoners and exile. Two peaceful civil society leaders have so far spent one year in pre-trial prison charged with rebellion. However, they never used violence or weapons, but they remain behind bars all the same.

Cuixart was president of Omnium Cultural and Sanchez headed the Catalan National Assembly (ANC) when they were arrested on charges alleging sedition for their role in the Catalan independence referendum, for which they now also face rebellion charges.
