The Defense Committees of the Republic raise highway barriers in simultaneous actions all over Catalonia

The Defense Committees of the Republic (CDR) have brought again this Sunday afternoon the popular protests on the Catalan highways, where it has raised the barriers so that the vehicles that circulate in a return operation after some festivities do not have to pay. The operation of the CDR came a few hours after yesterday they blocked the AP-7 freeway in Ampolla (Tarragona) for 15 hours, in protest for the liberation of the independentist political prisoners who were arrested.

Spanish oligopoly Abertis has confirmed the certainty of multiple barrier uplifts, but they have not specified the amount. According to the resistance committees, the affected tolls would be those of l'Hospitalet de l'Infant, Martorell, Girona,Vallvidrera and Manresa. They have uploaded videos that feature people with yellow vests.


Independence has repeatedly denounced the comparative grievances suffered by Catalonia for the high percentage of payment channels existing in Catalonia compared to the rest of Spain. Catalonia is, by far, the autonomous community with higher km payable:
