"We are in a political conflict and this implies confrontation, even if it is never wanted" has said the General Secretary of Catalonia's Republican Left (ERC), Marta Rovira. She is now exiled in Switzerland after being prosecuted by her political ideas. Rovira also defends the dialogue as a way to solve the Spanish question in Catalonia but said thet "Spanish Repression has come to stay". 

In the same sense the leader of the biggest civical pro independence movement, the Catalan National Assembly (ANC), Elisenda Paluzie, has said that "Renouncing unilateralism means renouncing independence."
