President Carles Puigdemont was this Sunday in a video conference in front of the Lledoners Spanish gaol where members of his cabinet are held as hostages. Together for Catalonia (JxCat) presented its candidates to the next snap elections in Spain. Puigdemontsaid that Puigdemont has responded to those who want to link independentism with violence, as well as members of the Catalan executive.

Puigdemont has also stated that he will never see a Catalan adviser "condemned to kidnap no one", referring to José Barronuevo and Rafael Vera. "We use the weapons of democracy: ballots and polls."

Puigdemont has claimed the "serene" responses of the independentist movement to "violent episodes" such as the 1-O or other police loads as the removal of yellow bows with sharp objects such as knives. "But what have you thought? Without any complex, from remote times, we have been actively fighting the streets against terrorism and violence," the president said before criticizing "all those who banish terrorism."
"We are people of peace and just because we want peace we use the weapons of democracy," said the president, who on the eve of the second anniversary of 1-O, called for "being on the side of the people which is played for independence and democracy "by going to the polls on 10-N.
