Catalan Minority at the 12th United Nations Forum on Minority Issues

Catalan representatives from the Catalan National Assembly and Catalan Language Platform are in Geneva for the 12th UN Forum on Minority Issues, this year focusing on Education, Language and the Human Rights of Minorities. Now more than ever its vital that we have new legislation that ensures our language rights including the right to immersion education. 600 delegates from all over the world explained the best practices and denounce abuses from states. Integration, no intimidation, respect. "Catalan school system and fundamental rights are at stake in Catalonia." said the Catalan minority representaives. The Catalan culture is "a topic at the core of the Catalan identity struggle against Spain", said the Assembly.
