Third day of Catalan protests show that Spain cannot control the territory anymore: "We no longer afford it. It is unattainable"

The second day of blockades in road linking Spain with France was a clear success for Catalan demonstrators. After bein removed from the AP7 highway they blocked the NII in La Jonquera. At least 19 people were detained, 125 injured. In a surprive move another olumn appeared in the south, in Sant Gregori, which blocked the AP7 again. Demonstrators stayed overnight on the road for a second night – they had blocked the same highway at the French border the night before until they were removed Spanish and French officers. In the Basque country another column in solidarity with Catalonia blocked for hours the border in Behobia. Simultaneously road bloacks spread all over Catalonia: the most successful in the South, in L'Ampolla, but others in Sabadell, Manresa, Sant Adrià del Besòs and at least three in Barcelona city: Diagonal Avenue, the Great Way and Meridiana Avenue. This one, in its 30rd day, lasted until the Spanish police vans harrassed the demonstrators. Meanwhile reports emerged that the police is outnumbered anywhere by Catalan people: "We no longer afford it. It is unattainable", said the officers.

The only block which stayed overnight was that of Sant Gregori. Two hours ago hundreds of Spanish policemen attacked the demonstrators with sticks and shooting. Some of them resisted in the village of Salt. There, the Spanish police FCSE used foam bullets to drive protesters in a face-off between occupation forces and demonstrators continued in the streets of Salt. Meanwhile Democratic Tsunami has called off action on the third day of cut.
