October 12th is the day Spain celebrates the “Day of Spain” (Dia de la Hispanidad). This day has been chosen by Pro-Spanish groups to demonstrate in favour of Catalonia’s ongoing submittance to Spain. It is a die-hard attempt to respond to the million-and-a-half-strong Demonstration of last 11th September, the National Day of Catalonia, a demonstration that hit the headlines of the press worldwide.
Today’s demonstration has been attended by a motley crew of minority political parties and two parliamentary groups (Partido Popular and C’anos), all of whom are opposed to Catalonia’s right to self-determination that they see as illegal. The attendance has been extremely low, about 6,000 people basically coming from Spain in buses.
Prestigious French paper 'Le Monde' has said that the demonstration was openly a Far-right one.
Visca Catalunya fora d'Espanya!!!!
Your photos are misleading.
Dear friends,
They also banalized the nazi antisemitism to demonize catalan people and catalanist. In this link, you can see a image where demonstrators depicted themselves as a jews in the nazi Germany:
