A letter from a son, a husband, or a father deployed in a war, a letter of a brave daughter bringing good news, a letter
full of joy and happiness. Everybody has at least once received a letter like
this.
I will write this last letter addressed to the German
people whenever I can, I do promise it!
Right now Catalans have lots of work to do, we have to
be alert, we cannot fail, we have to fight against the lies, denounce the
antidemocratic attitude and injustice. We have to act intelligently and with
resolution. We have to be careful. We have to write, read, sing, tell, make
everybody hear us, not let anybody frighten us, not let ourselves be
fooled by anyone, and we must vote.
So far, Catalans have lots of things to do. Like
you, we are making history, the one of our nation:, our beloved Catalonia. We are
making it all together although they do not want it, with decisions, day by
day, in peace.
We are a nation with principles, a good spirit, a
lovely language, an ancestral culture and a history—our own. We have a flag: “la senyera—l’estelada.” We have our own
way of feeling, thinking and acting which expresses our social identity as it
is.
We are Catalan and we want to be recognized as an state within the European Union.
