Competencies invasion denounced by Catalan government

Some weeks ago the Catalan Government released  a report by the “Institut d’Estudis Autonòmics” (Autonomics Studies Institute) which demonstrates the constant invasion by the Spanish government to Generalitat (Catalan government) competencies.

In areas where the Catalan Government, by law, has exclusive authority, Spanish government has created organizations and institutions with the purpose to limit the Catalan autonomy.

According to the report, this duplications make more difficult the economic activity and investment. Because of this constant invasion, Catalan self-government is limited to a simple administrative autonomy far from being a real political autonomy.

In presenting the report, the government spokesman, Francesc Homs, regretted that such invasions are the result of a biased view of the Constitution. He also recalled that IMF concluded that Spain is a country where there is a less legal security. Furthermore, take on a business is very difficult. In the ranking, appears at the same level as Uganda.
