After opening its doors last March, and in the middle of the sovereignty process, the United Nations have decided that Barcelona is the ideal location for them to set up the Institute on Globalization, Culture and Mobility from their University (UNU-GCM). Its goal is to initiate the research work in the Sant Manel Pavilion from the modernist site of Sant Pau Hospital.
It’s important to remember that Barcelona is and will be the only UN educational site in Southern Europe. Moreover, Barcelona becomes one of only 12 cities around the world with a UN University centre. Once again, Barcelona is the site of a research and investigation institute.
