PP rejects to declare illegal the Francisco Franco Foundation

The PP (Popular Party) yesterday rejected the Spanish Senate's initiative because the state's law pronounces on the legality of the Francisco Franco Foundation and changes the current legislation because "without place to interpretations" all those associations and foundations are not legal , that like the Franco Foundation, exalted the Franco regime and apologize for fascism.

In addition, the initiative, voted against by the PP, demanded to endow the Valley of the Fallen with a new meaning in accordance with the values ​​of peace, reconciliation and democracy. It demanded that the Valley be transformed into a center for the memory of all the victims, in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee of Experts. The Valley is a Franco's monument near El Escorial in Madrid that includes the World's Largest Cross and commemorates all those Francoists who died during the Spanish Civil War.

The PP was founded by a Franco's Minister and has always refused to condemn Franco's dictatorship.
