The crowd was no convoked by any organization but for social nets. It was a pure popular protest in front of a Spanish supremacist march against the Catalan language in the schools. Most of the half a thousand marchers were policemen waving flags of the Spanish military police. Some of them tried to break the Catalan police barrier but were stopped. They shouted violent slogans against Catalonia, its legitimate government and the Catalan language. Around 9,000 people blocked the supremacists and overcrowed the St James Square as well as rounding streets chanting the Catalan national anthem and antifascists songs as 'Bella Ciao' and the antifascists slogan "No Passaran".
