#VlaamseGroeten: a Christmas card for Catalonia

For over a year, nine Catalans have been in prison because of their political beliefs. The seven men and two women are spending their days and nights behind bars because they are standing up for an independent Catalonia. For the N-VA, this imprisonment is unworthy of a European constitutional state.

Show your solidarity

Just like last year, the N-VA is giving the Catalan political prisoners a few words of encouragement. Enclosed with the November edition of Nieuw-Vlaams Magazine you will find a Christmas card with a warm message of solidarity. Send it with #VlaamseGroeten to the imprisoned Catalans and show them that Flanders has not forgotten them.
Do you want to send a card to all nine Catalans? On the right of this message you will find the template of the card which you can print out yourself. Of course, if you wish, you can send a card of your own. You will find the nine addresses at the end of this message.

Shared support

Be sure to encourage others to show their support to the Catalan political prisoners too. After all, this is not just about independence for Catalonia, but also and above all about the right to stand up for one’s own political beliefs.
The more noise you create about this campaign, the louder you are supporting the Catalans. Organise letter-writing campaigns with your department, your association or even simply at home, with your friends and family. Share your Christmas card, photos or drawings on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and don’t forget to use the hashtag #VlaamseGroeten.
Let everyone know that the N-VA will never tolerate that democratically-elected people can end up in prison because they stood up - peacefully - for more autonomy.
