A young man stabbed by Spanish nationalists in Igualada

On the 23rd of June, a group of unionists carrying Spanish nationalist symbols and showing an  "aggressive attitude" began to pull down the pro-independence Catalan flags in Igualada (Barcelona). A local young man, Josep Ustrell, addressed them asking them to stop their activities, which involved private homes. The unionists pulled out a knife and wounded him.
Specifically, he suffered back, arm and abdomen injuries, and both his lungs were perforated –and then they fled. The Emergency Services took the injured young man to hospital where he received emergency surgery and where he still remains. According to Catalan police, so far no one has been arrested. The assailants stopped pulling down Catalan flags and ran away just as all the groups engaged in terrorizing the civilian population usually do.
